“Water, water, everywhere, And all the boards did shrink” One of the main challenges we must solve daily is getting fresh water to all the paddocks where our chickens roam: a big difference between keeping hens in a barn or a fixed building, versus pastured. A lot of work goes into making sure the chickens can be roaming around freely. We (finally) had some good rain on the weekend, but we always have to deal with pipes coming loose, pipes cut, hoses disconnected (because of naughty dogs!), broken connectors, wobbly angle connections… you name it. And all this water, water everywhere, should we start keeping some ducks, I wonder? 😃 The final reward: seeing the tanks are all full!! #water #waterwatereverywhere #freshwater #pastured #eggs #farming #challenges #problemsolving #poetry #pipes #connectors #leaks --from “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, from the year 1798 |
